MADE BY MADDY

MADE BY MADDY provides a unique dining experience, from meals at home to intimate dinner parties at your location of choice with family and friends. MADE BY MADDY is all about delicious food and good vibes around the table.

How does it work?

  • Beginning with a short consultation, we will establish your dietary preferences and address any food allergies.

  • Together, we will agree upon a menu. I provide a seasonal menu where you can choose your meals for the week. During this time, I will prepare 4 meals and a side/salad + dressing.

  • I will come to your home to check the pantry for essential ingredients, head to the grocery store to gather what is needed, and go back to your kitchen to prepare your meals.

  • I cook in your kitchen! I ask that you have appropriate kitchen tools such as baking sheets, blender, food processor, can opener, casserole dish, cutting board, grater, measuring utensils, mixing bowls, peeler, pots and pans, spatula, tongs and a strainer. I also ask that you provide glass-pyrex containers for storing food, especially for freezing.

  • Your kitchen will be left exactly as it was, and your fridge will be brimming with dinner options!

BIO

My name is Madeline; many call me Maddy, and I have lived in the Somerville/Cambridge area for about 6 years. I grew up in a small farm-town in Connecticut, with most meals home cooked involving fresh produce from local farmers and purveyors, something that has always stuck with me. I value the idea of food as nourishment and connecting with the earth through cooking. I enjoy living in New England and the seasonal abundance it has to offer.

In 2020 I began working on an exciting new venture, SolBe Provisions with SolBe Learning Center in Chestnut Hill, providing weekly seasonal food shares to the community by exploring culinary curiosities and the local-food ecosystem. The food shares consisted of produce from local farms and prepared plant-forward foods such as ready-to-heat meals, soups, salads, baked goods and fresh juices.

New opportunities presented themselves and I took a position at Boston’s beloved Middle Eastern bakery, Sofra in the front of house, worked as a Chef’s Assistant to Emily Vena and her restaurant, Cobble in Brookline and later took a position as a line cook at another one of Chef Ana Sortun’s establishments, Oleana. I have spent a lot of time in the food and restaurant industry, as well as connecting with farmers and the local communities. With a great appreciation for the simplicity of a few delicious, quality ingredients coming together as one, I decided to pursue becoming a personal chef.

My experience in the restaurant industry has allowed me to grow and explore food in depth and has ultimately encouraged curiosity to pursue my masters in Gastronomy/Food Studies and Culinary Arts Course at Boston University and start MADE BY MADDY.
